江西应用科技学院始建于1984年,是经教育部批准设置的全日制普通本科高校。2018年获批学士学位授予权单位，2024年通过教育部本科教学工作合格评估，是江西省首批应用型转型发展试点本科高校，江西省人民政府首批教育改革试点高校。
Founded in 1984, Jiangxi Institute of Applied Science and Technology (JXIAS) is a full-time undergraduate institution approved by the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China. In 2018, the University was granted the authority to confer bachelor’s degrees, and in 2024, it successfully passed the Ministry of Education’s Undergraduate Teaching Work Qualification Evaluation. As a university, it is among the first cohort of pilot institutions for application-oriented transformation and development in Jiangxi Province, and also one of the first higher education reform pilot institutions designated by The People’s Government of Jiangxi Province.
学校坐落于江西省省会南昌，占地面积110.56万平方米，现有全日制在校生19000余人。教学行政用房面积27.78万平方米，教学科研仪器设备总值1.7亿元以上。馆藏纸质图书194.30万册，电子图书近152.57万册。建有包括中央财政、省财政支持的多个实验实训基地，以及江西省民办高校示范性实训基地、南昌市重点实验室等一批教学实验室，入选工信部第五批“麒麟工坊”实训基地共建单位。学校环境优美，校园网万兆互联、千兆到桌面，学生公寓空调、洗浴设施齐全，田径场、教学楼、实验实训中心、体育馆、音乐厅等设施功能完备。
The University is located in Nanchang, the capital city of Jiangxi Province, and covers an area of 1,105,600 square metres. It currently has over 19,000 full-time students. The University has 277,800 square metres of teaching and administrative facilities. The total value of teaching and research instruments and equipment exceeds RMB 170 million. The university’s library holds 1,943,000 printed books and approximately 1,525,700 electronic books. The University has built multiple laboratories and practical training centers supported by both central and provincial government funds, including a model practical training base for private universities in Jiangxi, a key laboratory of Nanchang City, and a range of other teaching laboratories. It has also been selected as a co-construction unit for the fifth batch of the “Kylin Workshop” practical training bases under the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. The campus provides an attractive learning environment with a 10-gigabit interconnected campus network and gigabit-to-desktop connectivity. Student dormitories are equipped with air conditioning and shower facilities, while the athletics track, teaching buildings, experimental and training centres, gymnasium, concert hall, and other facilities are fully functional.
学校设有未来技术学院、智造学院、建筑学院、宝石矿物资源学院、经济管理学院、商学院、教育学院（公共体育教学部）、艺术设计学院、音乐学院、马克思主义学院等13个教学单位，开设40个本科专业和38个专科专业，形成了以工学、管理学、艺术学、教育学、经济学、文学等多学科协调发展的专业布局。拥有国家一流课程1门，省级一流课程（含精品课程、精品资源共享课）13门，省级一流本科专业建设点2个，省级特色专业1个，省级四星级专业点1个，省级人才培养模式创新实验区1个。获省级高校教学成果一、二等奖3项，青年教学成果奖1项。拥有国家自然资源科普基地1个、全国科普教育基地1个，省级科普教育基地3个，省级众创空间1个。
The university comprises 13 teaching units, including the School of Future Technology, School of Intelligent Manufacturing, School of Architecture, School of Gem and Mineral Resources, School of Economics and Management, School of Business, School of Education (Department of Public Physical Education), School of Art and Design, School of Music, and School of Marxism. It offers 40 undergraduate programmes and 38 junior college programmes, forming a well-balanced disciplinary structure that encompasses engineering, management, arts, education, economics, and literature. The University boasts 1 national-level first-class course, 13 provincial-level first-class courses (including premium courses and premium resource-sharing courses), 2 provincial-level first-class undergraduate programmes, 1 provincial-level specialised programme, 1 provincial-level four-star academic programme, and 1 provincial-level pilot zone for innovative talent cultivation models. It has won 3 provincial-level teaching achievement awards (first and second prizes) and 1 Youth Teaching Achievement Award. The University also hosts 1 National Natural Resources Science Popularisation Base, 1 National Science Popularisation Education Base, 3 provincial-level science popularisation education bases, and 1 provincial-level maker space.
学校现有教师1100余人，教师以具有硕博学历和正、副教授为主体，以“双师型”人才为骨干，其中享受国务院政府特殊津贴专家2人，省级教学名师1人，省级金牌教师1人，江西省新时代学生心中的好老师1人，省高校中青年学科带头人、中青年骨干教师13人，拥有省级高水平本科教学团队3个。近年来，学校教师（团队）在全国混合式教学设计大赛、全国高校智慧课程设计大赛、江西省高校教学创新比赛、江西省高校青年教师教学竞赛等省级以上教学竞赛中获奖100余人次。
The University currently employs over 1,100 faculty members, the majority of whom hold master’s or doctoral degrees and hold professorial or associate professorial titles, with “dual-qualified” faculty members (combining academic and industry expertise) forming the backbone of the faculty. Among them are 2 experts receiving the Special Government Allowance of the State Council, 1 provincial-level teaching master, 1 Provincial Gold Medal Teacher, 1 teacher recognised as “A Good Teacher in the Hearts of Students in the New Era” of Jiangxi Province, and 13 provincial young and middle-aged academic leaders and young and middle-aged key teachers. The university has 3 provincial-level high-quality undergraduate teaching teams. In recent years, its faculty members (and teams) have won over 100 awards in provincial-level and above teaching competitions, including the National Blended Teaching Design Competition, the National Smart Course Design Competition, the Jiangxi Provincial University Teaching Innovation Competition, and the Jiangxi Provincial Young University Teachers’ Teaching Contest.

The University adheres to a student-centred approach aimed at holistic development, and, in response to the demand for applied talent cultivation, has established an applied talent training model featuring the “tripartite collaboration” among academic schools, industry schools, and the innovation and entrepreneurship school. It places great emphasis on integrating ideological and political education into campus culture, and leverages youth league organisations and student clubs to deepen the “Second Classroom” experience. The University implements the “Dual Enhancement” Initiative, which simultaneously promotes the moral cultivation and professional development of faculty members and the overall quality growth of students, thereby forming a synergistic educational effect. It has carefully crafted distinctive campus cultural brands such as “Setting Sail”, “Spring Warmth at Applied Science”, “Inspiring Stories of JXIAS”, “Yuxing Lake Grand Lecture Hall”, and the “Chenlin Cup” Professional Skills Sports Competition, all of which foster a positive and motivating educational atmosphere. Over the past three years, students have won more than 1,000 awards in provincial-level and above academic and disciplinary competitions, including the “Challenge Cup” and the “China International College Students’ Innovation Competition”. 学校坚持开放办学，深入推进产教融合，积极开展对外交流与合作。面向江西省“1269”行动计划重点产业发展方向，主动对接“2+6+N”产业布局，启动新工科、新文科建设，探索以专业群对接产业链、培养高素质应用型人才的创新实践。先后与阿里巴巴集团、华为技术有限公司、大族激光智能装备集团有限公司、用友集团、网易有道信息技术（北京）有限公司等知名企业深度合作，共建阿里巴巴数字贸易产业学院、信创产业学院、大族激光3D打印产业学院、数智财经产业学院、短剧短视频产业学院、网易人工智能产业学院和电子信息产业学院（龙南）、低空经济产业学院等8个产业学院。其中，电子信息产业学院（龙南）入选省级现代产业学院立项建设培育，学校已累计获批教育部产学合作协同育人项目近百项。同时，学校与浙江大学、南昌大学、南昌航空大学等高校建立“民办公助、对口帮扶”合作机制，在师资建设、专业建设和课程建设等方面开展深度协作。学校与英国基尔大学合作举办“大数据与会计”“大数据与财务管理”等中外合作办学项目，国际化办学水平不断提升。
The University is committed to openness in education, actively deepens industry-education integration, and vigorously engages in international exchange and cooperation. Aligned with the key industrial development directions of Jiangxi Province’s “1269” Action Plan, it proactively connects with the “2+6+N” industrial layout, and has launched the development of emerging engineering and new liberal arts disciplines, exploring innovative practices that link programme clusters with industrial chains to cultivate high-quality applied talent. The University has established in-depth partnerships with renowned enterprises such as Alibaba Group, Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd., Han’s Laser Smart Equipment Group Co., Ltd., Yonyou Group, and NetEase Youdao Information Technology (Beijing) Co., Ltd. Together, these collaborations have given rise to eight industry colleges, including the Alibaba Digital Trade Industry College, the Information Technology Application Innovation Industry College, the Han’s Laser 3D Printing Industry College, the Digital Intelligence Finance and Economics Industry College, the Short Video and Micro-drama Industry College, the NetEase Artificial Intelligence Industry College, the Electronic Information Industry College (Longnan), and the Low-Altitude Economy Industry College. Among these, the Electronic Information Industry College (Longnan) has been selected as a provincial-level modern industry college construction and cultivation project. To date, the University has been approved for nearly 100 Ministry of Education Industry-University Collaborative Education Projects. At the same time, the University has established cooperative mechanisms with Zhejiang University, Nanchang University, and Nanchang Hangkong University under the “private with public assistance, paired support” framework, engaging in deep collaboration in faculty development, programme construction, and curriculum design. Furthermore, the University runs Sino-foreign cooperative education programmes with Keele University (UK) in fields such as “Big Data and Accounting” and “Big Data and Financial Management”, continuously elevating its level of internationalisation.
